Location

The property is situated in the small historic town of Soleto, a 6-minute drive from the centre of Galatina. The town is known for its Greek cultural heritage, and the striking 14th-century Orsini Spire (a 2-minute walk).

In the centre of the Salento peninsula, the villa is approximately a 30-minute drive from either coast. The sandy beach of Santa Catarina al Bagno is a 33-minute drive, whilst the port of Gallipoli (the Beautiful City), which was founded by Greek settlers thousands of years ago, is a 32-minute drive. Here you will find fascinating historical sites, ancient city walls and some of the best fish in Salento.

The city of Lecce, the “Florence of the South” (a 25-minute drive), is also worth a visit, famous for both its wonderful Baroque architecture and Roman ruins, not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping.

Nearby Galatina, like Lecce, has a beautifully preserved Baroque town centre, with lovely churches and palaces. For delicious local food, the weekly market takes place every Thursday morning and is well worth a visit. There are several restaurants within a 2-minute walk of the accommodation, and two grocery stores within a 5-minute walk.
