The town of Scicli is one of the jewels of Sicily. Blessed with staggering Baroque architecture, it offers a feast for the senses. This charming apartment for 2 is in the heart of the town, in a beautifully restored complex, where guests can enjoy a shared outdoor swimming pool; a gym; a cinema carved into the rock; and tranquil gardens.

The apartment is in a stunning position, with panoramic views across the valley and the rooftops of the town. There is a private garden, with a terrace where guests can relax in the sun, or enjoy dinner al fresco. Glass doors lead to the open-plan living area. This is furnished with a contemporary sofa, an elegant dining table and a sleek fitted kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, coffee machine and a fridge/freezer.

Sleeping

The unique bedroom has been carved out of the mountainside, retaining rough stone walls. It is furnished with a double bed, flat-screen TV, a wardrobe and a private bathroom.

Location

In southern Sicily, the town of Scicli is one of the island’s most beautiful cities. It is packed with Baroque architecture, excellent restaurants and cafés where visitors can soak up the atmosphere. Visitors can experience authentic Sicilian life at Scicli’s weekly market, which takes place on Tuesday mornings in Via Saffi.

The property is just 15 minutes from the coast. The medieval fishing village of Donnalucata is known for its wide, sandy beaches and sleepy atmosphere. It is home to several fine restaurants where you can sample the freshest local fish.

Catania’s International Airport is a 1 hour 30-minute drive.
