The beautiful Baroque city of Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South" is a 25-minute drive and the charming seaside town of Gallipoli known for its historic old town, sandy beaches and vibrant nightlife is a 50-minute drive. Other popular excursions include a trip to the historic town of Otranto (a 25-minute drive) famous for its Cathedral (with a mosaic floor), Aragonese Castle and scenic waterfront.
