Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text strings that visited websites send to the user's device (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be sent back to the same websites on the next visit. They are stored for varying periods of time - generally from a few hours to a few years - with the exception of profiling cookies, whose maximum duration is 365 days.

This document is an integral part of Dolidays Srl's Privacy Policy (available here) and is drafted in compliance with the Italian Data Protection Authority's Order of 8 May 2014 (Official Gazette no. 126 of 3 June 2014), implementing directive 2002/58/EC, as well as Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Cookies make it possible to record browsing preferences and other technical data that make the site easier to use: for example, recognising whether a connection between the user's device and the site has already been established, remembering login information or the preferred language. Users can manage their cookie preferences at any time through their browser settings (see the dedicated section below) or by enabling "private browsing", which avoids saving history and identification data.

Some user data is also collected through tools and services provided and stored by third parties (e.g. Google Analytics). Categories of cookies used by the site

The site uses persistent cookies (which remain stored until manually deleted or until a scheduled expiry) and session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed), both first-party (generated by Dolidays) and third-party (generated by third parties through the site). Disabling some cookies may limit the availability of certain features.

Technical cookies

Necessary and essential for the site to work: they allow browsing, saving the session, viewing content and using its basic features (e.g. keeping a browsing session open, accessing restricted areas, remembering the preferred language). Their use does not require the user's consent.

Analytics and aggregated statistical cookies

These collect anonymous or aggregated statistical information about how users interact with the site (pages visited, time spent, geographic origin). When active, the site uses Google Analytics with the IP anonymisation feature (anonymize_ip), which reduces the identifying power of the data collected; Google does not cross-reference this information with other data it holds. This category is not technical: it is only activated after the user's explicit consent, requested via the banner shown on first access (see below).

Other third-party cookies and social plugins

Should the site integrate features developed by third parties in the future (social icons and buttons, maps, embedded videos, CDN networks), and the user have an account with these services, they may be able to link the site visit to their profile. Dolidays Srl has no control over these external parties or over how they use the data collected through their own cookies: please refer to their respective privacy policies.

Cookies installed by the site

Both Google Analytics cookies are only installed after clicking "Accept" on the banner shown on first access: before that, no Google script is loaded by the site. The light/dark theme preference and the language choice are not cookies: they are stored in the browser's localStorage, a distinct technology that stays on the device and is never sent to the server.

Consent and cookie banner

Technical cookies (marked as such in the table above) are always active and do not require consent. For Google Analytics, on first access the user is shown a banner with two explicit choices, "Accept" and "Reject": only clicking "Accept" installs the related cookies and loads the Google script. The choice is remembered on the device, so the banner does not reappear on every visit; it can be changed at any time by clearing this site's browsing data in the browser, which will make the banner reappear on the next visit.

How to manage or disable cookies from your browser

It is always possible to prevent cookies from being set and read by changing the privacy settings of your browser. Since different browsers - and sometimes different versions of the same browser - offer different paths, please refer to the official guides for each tool:

• Apple Safari - Preferences → Privacy → Block cookies.

System logs

For reasons related to the operation and maintenance of the service, the site may record system logs containing technical data (such as the user's IP address), processed under the same legal basis as technical cookies and kept only for the time strictly necessary for these purposes.
